Datin Maznah Mahbob

Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director

Datin Maznah was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of BIMB Investment on 1 April 2019.

She has vast experience of over 34 years in fund management industry. She was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of AmInvest, the fund management company of AMMB Holdings Berhad from 2001 until her retirement in May 2017.

Datin Maznah graduated from Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, United Kingdom and Harvard Investment Management Programme, Boston.

Dato’ Seri Dr. Mohamad Zabidi Ahmad

Independent Non-Executive Director

Dato’ Seri Dr. Zabidi was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of BIMB Investment on 8 October 2021.

He is the former Senior Managing Director and Regional Head, Islamic Treasury, Treasury and Markets, Group Wholesale Banking, CIMB Group. He has vast experience over 38 years banking industry including 20 years’ experience in Group Treasury (conventional & Islamic), corporate (deposits, investment, client solutions), interbank, marketing, fixed income and derivatives, product development and structuring. He was responsible to develop Islamic Treasury franchise for CIMB Group regionally including United Kingdom, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and Thailand. He was also the Chief Dealer at Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Berhad for five (5) years in London.

Dato’ Seri Dr. Mohamad Zabidi holds a

• Doctor of Business Administration from University Utara Malaysia;
• Bachelor of Accountancy with Honors from University Institute Teknologi MARA Shah Alam;
• Chartered Accountant and Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountant (MIA); and a
• Certified Senior Financial Market Practitioner (CSMP) by ACI-Financial Market of Malaysia (FMAM) & The Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB)

Mashitah Haji Osman

Independent Non-Executive Director

Mashitah is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Bank Islam since 1 October 2020. She was appointed also as an Independent Non-Executive Director of BIMB Investment on 1 April 2023.

Puan Mashitah was formerly the Director/ Head, Corporate Investment Banking, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad and Chief Operating Officer in Business, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad. She has vast experience (over 30 years) in Corporate & Investment Banking. Puan Mashitah has held various positions at RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers Berhad as First Senior Vice President/ Senior General Manager, General Manager/Head, Islamic Finance (Islamic Capital Markets), a member of RHB Capital Syariah Council, Unit Head of Institutional and Islamic Financing, Corporate Banking, and Officer to Senior Manager, Corporate Banking.

Mashitah holds a

• Master of Business Administration, University College of Wales Aberystwyth, United Kingdom

Sharifah Sarah Syed Mohamed Tahir

Non-Executive Non-Independent Director

Sharifah Sarah is the Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad’s Group Chief Business Officer (Group Institutional Banking), and was appointed as BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd director since September 2022. She is also a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of BIMB Investment since 1 March 2023.

Prior to joining BIMB, she was the Managing Director, Client Coverage, Group Global Banking, Maybank Investment Bank from December 2020 until March 2022. She was also in the Human Capital of Group Global Banking Business at Maybank, Chief Risk Officer and Head of Strategy & Finance at Maybank Islamic, and Assistant Manager, Global Markets - International Business Group Islamic Banking Division at CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad.

Sharifah Sarah holds a

• Master’s in Finance & Investment, University of Durham, United Kingdom; and a
• Bachelor of Accounting (Hons), Multimedia Universerity Malaysia

Azdini Nor Azman

Chief Executive Officer & Non-Independent Executive Director

Azdini joined BIMB Investment as the Acting Chief Executive Officer on 1st March 2023, and has assumed the role as Chief Executive Officer and Licensed Director on 1st August 2023 following the official approval from the SC.

Azdini has an extensive experience of over 26 years in the industry. Prior to joining BIMB Investment, she was the Head of Wholesale Banking at Hong Leong Islamic Bank Berhad. She has worked with various organisations including Asian Islamic Investment Management Sdn Bhd, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, CFC Seymour Limited, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd and Amanah Short Deposits Berhad.

Azdini holds a

• Bachelor of Commerce (Major in Finance), University of Otago, New Zealand;
• Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (CIIF);
• Investor Protection Professional Certification (IPPC);
