BIMB Investment’s BEST Invest App Wins “Best Fintech Robo Mobile Application” at The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Awards 2021

Kuala Lumpur, 3 September 2021 – BIMB Investment Management Berhad (BIMB Investment) won Best Fintech Robo Mobile Application at The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Awards 2021 through BEST Invest. BEST Invest is BIMB Investment’s first Shariah-ESG Robo-Intelligence unit trust mobile application.

The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Awards are the industry’s most prestigious awards in what has become one of the fastest-growing and most promising niches of global finance. The award recognises the best Islamic banks and financial houses, adopting a rigorous approach in selecting the best Islamic institutions and transactions in various countries. The award ceremony will be hosted virtually on 15 September 2021.

Mohamed Ridza Mohamed Abdullah, Chairman of BIMB Investment, said, “Technology and digital approaches are now the keys to success in the Islamic finance industry with rapid innovations as the world shift towards digitalisation in products and services. The BEST Invest app assists investors digitally to construct an optimal investment portfolio driven by data and analytics. Our goal is to make investing simple and convenient while encouraging more Malaysians to start investing early. We are honoured to have received this prestigious award, recognising our ongoing commitment to bringing a new era of digital fund and wealth management experience for the benefit of the masses.”

BEST Invest was launched on 26 March 2020 as part of the company’s commitment to offering a new digitalised solution to sustainable investing for fellow Malaysians. It is an investment platform that systematically assesses investors’ investment risk profile and goals by automatically allocating their investments through diversified unit trust funds managed by BIMB Investment to maximise returns and manage investment risks over time.

The app offers investors the opportunity to start investing either by selecting the “Do it for Me” or the “Do it Yourself” functions in the app. The “Do it for Me” function enables the Robo-Intelligence system to identify and select the suitable funds and investment amount based on the investor’s risk profile. Alternatively, the “Do it Yourself” function enables investors to choose the funds they would like to invest in without the Robo-Intelligence system’s assistance for a more customised experience.

BIMB Investment’s Chief Executive Officer, Najmuddin Mohd Lutfi, said, “We are proud to see how much our BEST Invest app has grown. To date, we have about 35,000 total signed ups with almost 20 million sales volume. The app offers Shariah and ESG unit trust funds across asset classes, including global equities, Asia Pacific equities, Malaysia equities, global Sukuk, money market, and our newly launched Wakaf unit trust fund. BIMB Investment is a regional bank-backed Islamic Asset Manager signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI). We also have a core focus on sustainable investing, which incorporates environmental, social and governance (ESG) values. BEST Invest is suitable for all investors to start building their personal wealth. One only need to focus on how much they wish to earn and by when. The app will then assist in recommending suitable investment portfolios based on their risk profile and financial goals.”

“Winning this award proves our strong belief in Shariah ESG-based investment products and investing in general, and we aim to deliver risk-adjusted and sustainable returns for the long run constantly. We would also like to thank our team for their dedication and hard work throughout this journey.” He added.
