Shariah-ESG fund to seize opportunities in local equities.

En Najmuddin Mohd Lutfi, CEO of BIMB Investment Management Berhad said the Malaysian economy is expected to stabilise this year and the public investment could increase 1.4% after seeing negative growth last year. A turnaround for FBM KLCI, broader Malaysian corporate earnings growth and sustainable earnings recovery for the local O&G sector are some of the potential catalyst for the local stock market.

Mr Gabriel Karageorgiou, Partner at Arabesque Asset Management Ltd, UK, said the global exposure over a full market cycle may give the overall portfolio a boost due to foreign exchange fluctuations, coupled with diversification and minimal risk in Malaysian stock market, would help the fund outperform.
